Intake Specialist (Call Center Representative)

We are seeking an Intake Specialist (Call Center Representative) to join our team at Georgia Behavioral Health Professionals, Stockbridge location. You will be responsible for helping patients by providing service information, including scheduling appointments, displaying quality customer service and resolving any issues regarding new patient appointment scheduling.

Ideal candidates should be able to quickly learn and adapt to intake department environment scheduling techniques in order to best assist patient needs. They will be able to take initiative and have a positive outlook on any challenge that may be presented and resolve accordingly.

Primary Functions:

The responsibilities of this position include performing a wide variety of service transactions by phone, fax, or email, including but not limited to the following:

  • Answer incoming calls and assist members with account inquiries, review members accounts to identify and recommend appropriate services.
  • Report to intake manager for help or assistance when needed.
  • Solve problems accurately and follow through on resolutions.
  • Act as liaison between staff members and other administrative departments.
  • Support and contribute to the success of the department by providing effective and efficient customer service.
  • Have the ability to navigate between multiple systems

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's in Business Administration, Science, Management preferred.
  • 2+ years call center experience
  • Prior customer service experience in medical or mental health practices preferred
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service over the phone
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to schedule appointments depending on the patient needs
  • Must be well organized and attentive to details
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must have strong computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and Email
