About the job:

 

The Regional Accountant is customer centric, enjoy challenges, possesses a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to getting things done in a less structured but highly collegial environment and is able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Working hand-in-hand with the LifeStance Corporate Accounting Team, this role works to identify process improvements and develop policies to improve accuracy and timeliness of the company’s financial results. This position oversees the daily management of cash, payroll and the accounts payable process for the Southeast region. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances and have the opportunity to grow your duties and responsibilities commensurate with the growth of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assume primary, day-to-day responsibility for processing accounts payables including invoice verification, coding, posting, etc
  • Verify and post daily cash transactions, reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Facilitates payroll process and ensures timely, accurate payments to employees
  • Analyze SG&A variances on a monthly basis against budget and forecast, recommend resolution for discrepancies
  • Assist in creating and improving financial reporting processes
  • Assist in tactical & strategic financial planning which may including helping stakeholders assess actual financial results to budgeted variances and tracking the performance of KPIs and other key business metrics
  • Assist in annual audit preparation
  • Respond effectively to inquiries from external and internal sources
  • Perform other duties, special projects and tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Three (3) years accounting or finance experience in a corporate office environment
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of GAAP
  • Customer service oriented, with a commitment to professionalism and teamwork
  • Unassailable integrity and strong work ethic
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, v-lookups)
  • Microsoft Office Experience (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and on a team
  • Ability to dig in and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility with hours during critical financial close periods
  • A commitment to excellence and the ability to communicate to individuals at all levels and roles

 

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Healthcare experience, particularly clinic-based operations, such as physician practice management area
  • Experience and working knowledge of NetSuite, QuickBooks, ADP and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
