LifeStance is a mental healthcare company focused on providing evidence-based, medically driven treatment services for children, adolescents, and adults suffering from a variety of mental health issues in an outpatient care setting, both in-person and through its digital health telemedicine offering.

LifeStance Health does not have its own app at this time, but virtual appointments are available via multiple platforms.
Since its inception, LifeStance has worked to increase access to quality behavioral health services and address the unmet needs of patients across the nation under a variety of local brands. All practices under the LifeStance Health umbrella had begun transitioning to the LifeStance Health brand in January 2021. Soon thereafter, practices had implemented changes to their physical signage and digital assets, presenting one cohesive brand across the country. On billing and other official documents, all subsidiaries had begun to use the LifeStance Health name starting March 1, 2021.
Ken Burdick is the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, effective September 7, 2022. Burdick succeeded Michael Lester, who has served as the company’s founding Chief Executive Officer and Chairman since 2017.
LifeStance Health is proud to have partnered with mental health practices across the country that provide high-quality patient care from compassionate care providers. Before 2020, these practices had continued to operate under their own brand names. Now, all of our partners will use the LifeStance Health brand. Since its inception, LifeStance has worked to increase access to quality behavioral health services and address the unmet needs of patients across the nation under a variety of local brands.
Telehealth
We always make sure that any appointment that takes place between a patient and one of our therapists is compliant with HIPAA regulations and ensures patient privacy. The software we use to facilitate this teleconferencing encrypts any video and audio, too.
LifeStance ensures the interaction between the patient and clinician is completely secure and HIPAA compliant. The teleconferencing software encrypts all forms of data, including video and audio.
Most commercial insurances do cover telehealth visits, but coverage can vary by insurance carrier. We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance carrier prior to scheduling a telehealth visit, to inquire if telehealth is indeed a covered benefit for your plan.

LifeStance specializes in medication management with over 600 locations in 33 states.
LifeStance mental health care clinics are not mental health treatment centers that offer inpatient care. We treat a wide range of mental health disorders but all our services are outpatient. If in-patient care is needed, a LifeStance provider can evaluate the needs and refer a patient to a mental health care hospital.

Insurance & Billing FAQs
LifeStance accepts most commercial insurance plans in the states we offer services. If you don’t see your insurance carrier listed, please contact us to see how we can help.
All state Medicaid programs provide some mental health services and some offer substance use disorder services to beneficiaries. Also, there is coverage for preventive mental health care.
If you have questions about your coverage or financial responsibility, please contact your plan administrator directly.
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your insurance benefits and confirming if LifeStance is preferred or in-network with your insurance carrier. Please be prepared to confirm your health insurance and credit card information when scheduling and arriving for each appointment.
You are financially responsible for the cost of the mental health services provided to you or your dependent(s) and for any portion of the fees not reimbursed or covered by your health insurance, including late cancellations and missed appointments.
LifeStance requires patients to have a credit card on file with our secure third-party billing platform. LifeStance will charge for the balance due either at the time of service or after your health insurance confirms a patient responsibility portion.
It’s our policy to collect credit card (or Health Savings Accounts and Flex Spending Accounts card) information prior to your appointment so that we can simplify the payment process upon completion of your appointment, especially in the case of a telehealth appointment where the traditional “check-out” process doesn’t occur. We appreciate your cooperation with this policy.
You can visit the LifeStance patient portal to make a payment, review outstanding balances that may be charged to your credit card on file, or to ask any questions that you may have.
