FAQ
Appointments
We have offices in 34 states and continue to add more. If you do not see your state listed, please contact us and we’ll be in touch when services are available in your area.
We understand the importance of finding a provider who is suited for your specific needs. Our expansive network of licensed clinicians offers a wide variety of treatments. View our directory of providers in your state or contact a member of our Intake team.
Prior to coming to the office you will receive an email confirming your appointment. Please make sure you complete the online patient forms prior to arriving in the office so our providers can review your case ahead of time. When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted by a member of our administrative staff. If you have not completed your paperwork ahead of time, new clients will have to complete the paperwork prior to their appointment so we ask that that patients arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time, so please plan your arrival accordingly.
Billing
LifeStance accepts most commercial insurance plans in the states we offer services. If you don’t see your insurance carrier listed, please contact us to see how we can help.
If you have questions about your coverage or financial responsibility, please contact your plan administrator directly.
You are responsible for providing accurate information about your insurance benefits and confirming if LifeStance is preferred or in-network with your insurance carrier. Please be prepared to confirm your health insurance and credit card information when scheduling and arriving for each appointment.
You are financially responsible for the cost of the mental health services provided to you or your dependent(s) and for any portion of the fees not reimbursed or covered by your health insurance, including late cancellations and missed appointments.
LifeStance requires patients to have a credit card on file with our secure third-party billing platform. LifeStance will charge for the balance due at either at the time of service or after your health insurance confirms a patient responsibility portion.
It’s our policy to collect credit card (or Health Savings Accounts and Flex Spending Accounts card) information prior to your appointment so that we can simplify the payment process upon completion of your appointment, especially in the case of a telehealth appointment where the traditional “check-out” process doesn’t occur. We appreciate your cooperation with this policy.
You can visit the LifeStance patient portal to make a payment, review outstanding balances that may be charged to your credit card on file, or to ask any questions that you may have.
Telehealth
We always make sure that any appointment that takes place between a patient and one of our therapists is compliant with HIPAA regulations and ensures patient privacy. The software we use to facilitate this teleconferencing encrypts any video and audio, too.
Most commercial insurances do cover telehealth visits, but coverage can vary by insurance carrier. We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance carrier prior to scheduling a telehealth visit, to inquire if telehealth is indeed a covered benefit for your plan.
LifeStance ensures the interaction between the patient and clinician is completely secure and HIPAA compliant. The teleconferencing software encrypts all forms of data, including video and audio.
It is best to speak to your doctor about the most effective plan for your care. We typically recommend that patients participating in Telehealth continue to see their provider face to face on a periodic basis. You and your provider can work together to determine a routine that works best for your specific needs.

Services
Do you have consistent patterns of negative thinking about yourself and your life? Do these thoughts prevent you from enjoying life to its fullest? Then CBT may be an effective intervention for you.
We always make sure that any appointment that takes place between a patient and one of our therapists is compliant with HIPAA regulations and ensures patient privacy. The software we use to facilitate this teleconferencing encrypts any video and audio, too.
Some mental health disorders are best treated by therapy, while others are effectively treated through therapy and medication. More often than not, the most successful interventions combine the two. For example, a patient receiving exposure therapy for OCD may need medication to ameliorate their symptoms as they practice techniques learned in therapy.
In some cases, medication is the core treatment and therapy the secondary intervention. Those with a chemical imbalance, for example, may need medication to stabilize the mind and then use therapy to help them heal.
Conditions
There is no known cure for this mental health disorder. There are, however, many treatments that can make this disorder manageable in the long term. Treatment options can include medication, lifestyle changes, or therapy.
In many cases, agoraphobia develops when someone has another anxiety disorder and panic attacks that go untreated for too long. After having a panic attack in public, people may begin to fear the next panic attack, leading to agoraphobia.
Not everyone with an anxiety disorder will develop agoraphobia. Some people without previously diagnosed anxiety disorders develop agoraphobia first.
