For me as a counselor this means I work to demystify the counseling process and make it transparent, understandable and safe. I believe everyone has a desire to live their best life and I start from this assumption as I seek to help people to avoid feeling judged or blamed and instead seek a fuller understanding of what’s getting in their way. I use acceptance and commitment therapy as well as a collaborative problem-solving approach to help gain insight, build empowerment, and find solutions.
