I became a first-generation graduate in my family when I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (located in Nacogdoches, TX) with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Living with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I always knew I wanted to help others in some way, but wasn’t quite sure how. Over time, I grew compassion for helping others, especially children, articulate their current emotional state. I found myself falling in love with the opportunity that counseling gives individuals to use their voices to best communicate how they are feeling and processing current stressors in their lives. I view counseling as a privilege to care for the heart and mind in a very special and unique way. I then decided to pursue a Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary (Houston, TX). My experience in both private practice and clinical mental health have created a space for me to become a versatile and eclectic counselor.
