Therapist in Springfield, Illinois Alicia Gatti, LMFT

Alicia Gatti, LMFT

Alicia Gatti is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Campus in Los Angeles, CA. She has been working within the mental health field since 2008 building her career in a variety of roles and clinical settings. She provides individual, couple, and family therapy to children, teens, and adults. She has extensive experience in treating mood disorders, anxiety, adjustment issues, anger management, trauma, domestic violence, and family systems issues.

Additionally, she has worked in Higher Education providing academic support services, individualized accommodations, and self-advocacy guidance to students with documented disabilities. Alicia takes a holistic and systemic approach drawing from various therapeutic modalities but tends to gravitate to a combination of cognitive behavioral, humanistic, and solution focused orientations to addressing needs. She understands that no single style works for everyone, that all people are individuals, and all situations are unique. She is committed to working collaboratively with you to discover what works best for your specific needs and personality. Relationships are vital to people and the quality of these relationships impacts the quality of life. People have an inherent need to feel understood and heard.

Although Alicia may draw from a variety of therapeutic tools, she believes the therapeutic relationship is the most important. She will provide compassion, understanding, trust, and a safe space for you to express yourself in an open and honest manner. She will help you work through life challenges, enhance your ability to experience growth and will work alongside you to support you, help you accomplish your goals, and reach your full potential.

Outside of work, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking walks, gardening, cooking/baking, painting, interacting with her pets, and maintaining her aquariums and terrariums. Make sure to ask her about her poison dart frogs and her ornery parrot named Ollie.
