Therapist in Salem, New Hampshire Amanda Littlefield, LICSW

Amanda Littlefield, LICSW

Providing therapy since 2000, Amanda Littlefield (she/her) is a Spanish-speaking Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She also treats adults, with expertise in addressing issues stemming from childhood experiences.

Amanda’s professional experience has been primarily in southern California and in the Boston area. Her professional background includes helping adolescents with developmental disabilities achieve their goals, investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect, supporting children separated from their families due to abuse and neglect, treating child sexual abuse in both children and adults, advocating for children’s needs within school systems, teaching social skills and skills for reducing anxiety, coaching parents in managing behavioral problems, and providing therapy as a member of a medical team. Amanda’s previous work experience with schools and with pediatricians gives her the ability to advise parents in getting their children’s needs met outside of the therapy session.

Prior to joining LifeStance, Amanda was a therapist for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in the Boston area, providing therapy for children, teen, adults and families for more than 15 years. There she honed her skills as a therapist and developed an individualized approach to therapy. Amanda tailors her therapeutic approach to address a person’s emotional needs with consideration of and sensitivity to all of the person’s experiences: social, educational, cultural, spiritual, medical, biological, and environmental.

Amanda’s undergraduate degree is in Intercultural Studies and she has traveled broadly, especially in Spanish-speaking countries. She enjoys working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and seeks solutions that are sensitive to their cultural experiences.

Her primary therapeutic approach is cognitive and behavioral, and for children she offers play therapy (during in-person visits only).
