Andy believes in every individual’s capacity for personal growth and self-improvement and empowers each person to be an active partner in their therapy process. By taking time to understand the unique circumstances and history of his clients, Andy develops an individualized treatment approach for those with depression, anxiety, anger, and other emotional concerns in addition to substance dependence. His approaches draw from evidence-based models and interventions including cognitive-behavioral therapy, the transtheoretical model, substance dependence recovery, communication processes, stress management models, mindfulness techniques, and more. Viewing each client as the primary agent of change, Andy will integrate with his clients an ongoing process of progress evaluation and new goal development to ensure that therapy remains active, positive, and beneficial.

Andy earned his master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). Andy’s past clinical experience includes residential, partial hospital, intensive outpatient, and outpatient therapy at Aurora Psychiatric Hospital and Genesis Behavioral Services. In his free time, Andy enjoys camping, backpacking, and anything outdoors as well as spending time with family and friends.
