Ann May, LPC

Provider Type: Therapist

Serving: Adult & Pediatric

Ann May, LPC

Ann welcomes you into a judgement-free, gentle space where you can feel comfortable to express and disclose your struggles. You’ll be treated with unconditional positive regard, respect, and compassion as you allow Ann to walk alongside you on your path toward healing.

Depression, anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, impacts of racism and prejudice, trauma, negative habits, distorted thinking, volatile relationships, and addiction are some of the issues that Ann can help her clients to deal with. She tailors her approach for each client utilizing supportive counseling techniques and modalities, including active listening, validation, encouragement, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, brief solutions-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, feminist theory, humanistic, and person-centered. She guides her clients in discovering their strengths to overcome obstacles rather than providing answers.

Ann earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She’s served marginalized populations in inner-city communities in various roles, such as outpatient and inpatient therapy. Having dealt with her own “stuff,” Ann brings understanding and empathy to each session.
