Dr. April Scott is a therapist, who has been practicing since 2008. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tuskegee University, her master’s in Clinical Psychology from Barry University, and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University. April’s approach to treatment is evidence-based and culturally-informed. She believes the therapeutic process should be a collaborative experience in which the client is an active participant and setting and working towards the goals of treatment. She delivers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments to adult and older adolescent clients who present with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship problems. Their main areas of focus include mood and anxiety disorders, grief, life and career transitions, and racial trauma. In her spare time, April enjoys attending concerts, food festivals, and spending time with friends and family.
