I am a Board Certified Psychiatrist with more than 20 years of experience. I did my internship in Internal Medicine and chose to be a psychiatrist as most medical conditions were associated with mental health problems. I believe in coordination of care with primary care physicians and specialists if needed. I treat adults with various mental illnesses, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders and psychotic disorders. My emphasis is mainly on psychopharmacology and lifestyle modifications. I have a special interest in women’s health.
I obtained my Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery from Dhaka, Bangladesh, Masters in Public Health from San Jose State University, and did my residency at Texas Tech University Health Center in Lubbock, TX, where I served as Chief Resident. I have experience treating diverse patient populations in the San Francisco Bay Area. I also worked with veterans at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
