Dr. Brian Rice is a Psychologist in Arizona who has been practicing since 1995. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Dr. Rice received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Emporia State University in Kansas, his Master of Science in Physical Education with a Specialization in Sport Psychology from the University of Idaho, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Dr. Rice completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Center for Counseling and Student Development at the University of Delaware and completed his post-doctoral psychology experience at Fort Hays State University, The George Kelly Center, in Kansas. In addition to his work as a therapist at LifeStance Health, Dr. Rice also serves as a Faculty Associate teaching project management and success by design courses at Arizona State University and as an Adjunct Faculty teaching customer services in information technology at GateWay Community College. Dr. Brian Rice works with adults and couples to identify new resources and skills, especially when someone is struggling with issues related to stress and relationship difficulties. He specializes in working with professionals who are interested in improving performance in their personal life or place of employment. Therapeutically, Dr. Rice works primarily from a narrative therapy framework while also incorporating a 360º perspective model, the hero’s journey metaphor, elements of systems thinking and the Plan/Do/Study/Adjust continuous improvement cycle. Creating a foundational experience of respect is core to his sessions. In his free time, Dr. Brian Rice enjoys music, travel, food with family and friends, and watching Kansas City football in the Fall.
