Caroline Hanlet, LPC

Dr. Caroline Hanlet treats patients starting from 6 years old.

Caroline Hanlet, LPC, firmly believes that every person is stronger than they think, and she’s here to help clients learn how to motivate and raise themselves up to accomplish their goals.

Caroline earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from Illinois Institute of Technology and a graduate degree in mental health counseling from National Louis University specializing in mood, anxiety, and trauma work. She has a background working in residential centers for eating and mood disorders and has worked in clinical research and outpatient treatment for substance abuse. She treats adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-injury, substance abuse, and more.

In therapy, Caroline takes a client-centered approach to guide clients where they want to be. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and will help them using therapeutic tools to be able to help themselves. She utilizes aids such as thought-restructuring and distress tolerance skills and gives credence to positive psychology to build up strengths rather than over-analyzing imperfections. Caroline is knowledgeable, patient, and sensitive to cultural and LGBTQ+ individual needs and makes sure to make comfort in therapy a priority.
