Catherine Chewning is a Supervisee in Social Work in Virginia who has been practicing since 2001. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2007 and began to work full time at Virginia Treatment Center for Children after volunteering there prior to graduation. After three years, she resigned to complete the practicum requirements to obtain a Master’s in Clinical Social Work. Catherine has worked with a diverse population of children from inpatient care (residential and acute) to a juvenile detention center, to public schools within different counties. With each role, Catherine has learned to not treat just the immediate symptoms but take a holistic approach and help the individual feel successful in their choices. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, and reading.
