Chantal received her bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University where she majored in psychology and minored in sociology. She started her clinical experience in graduate school as an Intern providing group therapy to patients in the PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) at Newark Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, NJ. Upon graduating from Alliance University in Manhattan, NY (formerly Nyack College) in May 2013, she began working in the Children’s TLC (Therapeutic Learning Center) Partial Hospitalization Program. Chantal then transferred to St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ where she was the Rehabilitation Therapist on the adult inpatient psychiatric unit. Upon the recommendations of the inpatient psychiatrists from Trinitas Hospital who were working at St. Michael’s Hospital at the time, she transferred to Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ. While working in the Psychiatric Emergency Department at Trinitas Hospital she took the state of NJ Mental Health Screening course and obtained her Mental Health Screening Certification. In 2018 Chantal transferred to Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care where she was a Mental Health Clinician in the psychiatric emergency department at University Hospital and also responded to psychiatric emergencies in the community with the assistance of the Newark Police and University Hospital EMTs. This position allowed her the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients and their families whose lives were impacted by severe/chronic mental illness and substance abuse. In 2019 she received a promotion to Program Coordinator in Rutgers PESS(Psychiatric Emergency Screening Services) in Newark, NJ. Chantal is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. She strives to provide a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental, kind, and honest environment for all of her patients. In her spare time, Chantal enjoys taking cooking classes, baking, origami, calligraphy, reading, volunteering, and spending quality time with her husband, friends, and family.
