Cheryl Withka treats patients of all ages
Dr. Cheryl Withka obtained her Master’s of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and completed her doctoral degree in School-Clinical-Child Psychology from Pace University in New York. As part of her degree training, she obtained intensive clinical experience in a public school setting prior to completing her American Psychological Association accredited internship at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey where she provided therapeutic and assessment services to children, adolescents and adults within inpatient, outpatient and partial care settings. Although she has treated individuals from early childhood through adulthood, her work has concentrated on providing evaluations and treatment of children (birth through twelve), adolescents, young adults, parents and families. She has worked in a variety of settings including providing clinical and consultation services within outpatient, inpatient and partial-hospital environments, private practice, public and private schools, and universities as well as within business settings. She is licensed as a psychologist in the state of New Hampshire and is certified as a school psychologist in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Dr. Withka is an active member of the New Hampshire Psychological Association as well as the National Association of School Psychologists.
Dr. Withka works collaboratively with clients, parents and families. She draws from a variety of treatment approaches based on the needs and strengths of each client including brief therapeutic interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques, social skills training, interpersonal psychotherapy as well as play therapy.
