About Christina Mitchell, PMHNP

Ms. Christina Mitchell sees patients ages 5 to 45. For patients under 16 years old, the first appointment will be for parents only.

Dr. Mitchell provides psychiatric and psychopharmacological (medical) assessment and treatment for children and young adults. As a registered nurse she worked in the pediatric, psychiatric, and emergency room settings. She has had experience caring for families afflicted by violence across the lifespan and with varying arrays of severity. She has focused her career fostering preventative health and flourishing development to the pediatric population. She has worked for the past 5 years (and continues to work) as a pediatric nurse practitioner where she has taken a keen interest in screening for mental health in primary care and improving access for pediatric patients to psychiatric care.

Dr. Mitchell received her post-doctoral training in psychiatric mental health from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to her psychological training she obtained her bachelor of nursing (BSN) degree at Northeastern University, followed by a masters of science (MS) degree at Boston College specializing in Forensic Nursing and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Northeastern University.

Dr. Mitchell is credentialed by the pediatric nursing certification board (PNCB) as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care. She is also a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner across the lifespan by the American nurses credentialing committee (ANCC).
