About Christopher Welch, PSY.D

Christopher Welch treats patients between the ages of 12 and 45 years old
Dr. Welch utilizes a curious, empathic, encouraging and pragmatic style to therapy with pre-teens, adolescents and adults who are experiencing challenges related to depression/anger, mood, anxiety and trauma, family conflict, and emotional regulation/behavioral control. Dr. Welch has a particular interest and specializes in assisting individuals who are in the process of negotiating the myriad changes associated with transitions that occur during adolescence through early adulthood, such as individuation, perceived inadequacy/”imposter syndrome,” identity confusion and relationship concerns. He often employs stress reduction and relaxation techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness approaches, notably Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to foster the development and application of skills that help clients to realize the changes they desire.
