Curtis Greenfield, PsyD
Curtis G.G. Greenfield, Psy.D. attained his doctoral degree from the APA accredited American School of Professional Psychology. He completed both his internship and pre-doctoral residency in the San Francisco Bay area working with an array of patients who were experiencing depression and anxiety, relationship fractures, issues related to aging and memory loss, and other emotional struggles. Dr. Greenfield went on to complete an additional post-doctoral residency working in care-homes and other acute care settings providing services for individuals previously diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease, Dementia, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). While there Dr. Greenfield also led public seminars on aging and was a guest speaker at San Francisco State University.
Dr. Greenfield specializes in working with older adults and their care givers, with couples who are restructuring their relationship, and with individual adults who are exploring their relationships to self and others. He is comfortable working with patients from multiple faith traditions, with artists and other creatives, and with individuals who have been court mandated to attend therapy. Dr. Greenfield holds additional specialized certificates in Hypnotherapy, in Military Mental Health, and is an active member of the American Psychological Association.
When working with patients, Dr. Greenfield uses a psychodynamic approach to treatment that emphasizes elements of positive psychology and Imago therapy. His goal is for his patients to understand why they are making decisions and to gain insight into their previously misunderstood or unfulfilled behavior(s). Along the way Dr. Greenfield helps his patients to feel increased levels of contentment with their past, to feel enhanced levels of joy in their current relationships, and to have a brighter hope for their future. Dr. Greenfield is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Washington.
