Dakota Elliott, MS, MFTC

Dakota invites you into a safe environment where you can grow and develop the wonderful life and relationships you deserve. She knows that you’ve been on a journey with unique experiences leading you to this moment. She’ll meet you where you are, listen to you with compassion and without judgment, and encourage you in your goals.

She enjoys helping adults overcome trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-doubt, post-partum mood disorders, discover their spirituality or explore their identity. She also loves working with children and teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, have experienced traumatic events or abuse, and more.

Dakota uses a variety of techniques and modalities, and often relies on EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) because it focuses on creating connections with others and being in tune with internal emotions and experiences to heal from relationship struggles, mood disorders, addiction, and many more presenting problems. She also uses EMDR, ACT, reflective listening, mindful self-compassion, art, music, and play therapy interventions to help each person achieve their goals.

With a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy, Dakota has worked in community therapy centers counseling kids, families, couples, and individuals, and an OB/GYN medical clinic counseling women and their partners with pregnancy and post-partum issues. She’s a LGBTQ+ affirmative and allied therapist, and practices from a social justice and culturally agile framework.
