Daniel Medlock, DNP PMHNP-BC, LPC, CSAC, EMT-B

Dan Medlock, DNP PMHNP-BC, LPC, CSAC, EMT-B, is a graduate of Rush University’s Doctor of Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Program and Rush University’s Generalist Master of Nursing program. He also is a graduate of Cardinal Stritch University’s Master of Clinical Psychology program. Dr. Medlock has trained at Rush University Medical Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital Stone Institute of Psychiatry, and Froedtert Medical Center. He has been employed by Rush University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Aurora Psychiatric Hospital, Ascension Psychiatric Department and Renew Counseling Services. Dr. Medlock was an Assistant Professor at Rosalind Franklin University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice, before returning to clinical practice and neuroscience research.

He is a trained and licensed professional counselor, a psychiatric nurse and a DNP who has worked with adults, children, and adolescents in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. He has treated all facets of psychopathologies from anxiety disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, traumatic stress, grief, bereavement, personality disorders, addictions, and a wide breadth of co-morbid conditions and neurocognitive disorders. Dr. Medlock has experience as a psychiatric liaison on medical units and has performed neuropsychiatric assessments for decisional capacity and fit for duty evaluations.

Dr. Medlock is a licensed prescriber of psychotropic medications, and is a trained and tenured EMDR practitioner, Levels 1 and 2. He is also currently working on advancing to EMDR Certification. He is also certified in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) Therapy for psychological traumas. Dr. Medlock uses a variety of medical, nursing, psychological and other approaches with individuals from Reiki (he is trained and certified as a Reiki Master and Instructor), HeartMath Biofeedback techniques, psychodynamic therapies to transactionally based psychotherapies.
