During her studies, she worked in an elementary school as a facilitator, assisting children with their social-emotional skills. Edmary worked in hospice with families whose loved ones are in-patient in a hospital setting. During her time at the hospital working in hospice she has witnessed different stages of grief that families go through. In addition, she has been able to provide emotional support and compassion for the families of patients. Edmary worked at a mental health outpatient clinic as a therapist for 4+ years. She has worked with children and adults ranging from as young as 5 years old to seniors. Her experience includes working with children and adolescents with behavioral, self- esteem,anxiety, and mood issues. Edmary uses play therapy to assist children with their social-emotional regulation skills. Lastly, her experience includes working with transgender adolescents. Edmary has vast experience counseling children and adults with anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder,adjustment disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She has experience working with grief, life stressors, and trauma. Edmary’s therapeutic approach is a combination of a variety of methods including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, and person-centered to create a tailored approach for each individual. She believes in working alongside clients to assist them in clarifying their treatment goals, overcome any obstacles, and provide a safe and judgment free environment. In her spare time Edmary enjoys listening to podcasts and she is always eager to learn and further her skills through various training.
