Elisabeth Maguire (she, her, hers) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with more than 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist. Elisabeth received her Master of Social Work in 2006 from Smith College School for Social Work. Prior to moving to New Hampshire from Boston, Elisabeth worked as a clinical social worker in several roles at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Elisabeth worked on the inpatient psychiatric unit, in the emergency department, and in the outpatient psychotherapy department. Elisabeth also worked as an inpatient clinical social worker for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health at Tewksbury Hospital.

Elisabeth has been trained in many evidence-based psychotherapy practices, including the treatment of grief, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in which she completed a certificate program, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and most recently Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR). She has experience working with clients who are experiencing a variety of significant stresses in their life including homelessness and poverty. She has a holistic approach that considers the entire person in their environment including any of the different types of diversity.

Elisabeth has experience helping people who are experiencing a variety of issues, including life transitions, depression, mood disorders, anxiety, grief, trauma, medical issues and other disorders. She has seen individuals with co-occurring disorders and is familiar with the dynamics involved in substance use. She experience working with individuals in the context of their family. Elisabeth has a warm and collaborative approach to psychotherapy.
