Esther Lowery is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Maryland who has been practicing since 2013. She has a BA in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern CT. State University. Esther has experienced great opportunities to serve as a Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor for licensed and unlicensed therapists both seasoned and new to the field of mental health. She has been honored to provide support and guidance for MFT interns who were bright, motivated, and eager about working in the field of mental health. Esther is skilled in providing comprehensive diagnostic intakes and assessments. She also has experience in providing functional family in home therapy and fee for services therapy in outpatient clinical settings. Esther is familiar with therapeutic interventions that support individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. She also provides life skills training and grief counseling for those who require support for unresolved issues relating to loss and trauma. Esther specializes in reactive attachment disorders and intergenerational therapeutic models relating to family systems and building healthier connections and avenues of communication. Esther’s greatest motivation and passion over the years has been to help to provide and or facilitate a greater reliance on one’s personal faith and natural support systems, to improve their overall functioning. Esther provides Christian counseling and support services to clients from all faiths and walks of life. She is currently pursuing a PHD in psychology with hopes of becoming more instrumental with developing effective legislation and policies to support the increase of accessible and affordable mental health services in our marginalized communities.
