Depending on clients’ desire and readiness, Dr. Wang can provide short-term solution-focused therapy or long-term psychodynamic therapy. Couples work is his passion. A thriving couples system is central to a flourishing family system. Dr. Wang uses Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to help couples develop a secure couples attachment, maintained and reinforced by a new adaptive interactional pattern between the partners. He also employs EMDR techniques to help clients work with their troubling implicit and explicit memories and increase mind-body integration. Outside of work, Dr. Wang enjoy arts and music as a way to express experiences words cannot describe. Singing karaoke is one of his favorite ways to connect with friends and his cultural heritage. He marvels at the creativity of various ethnic foods and would count himself as a foodie. Playing non-competitive board games with friends lets us make fond memories. Dr. Wang loves to read and learn, and resonates with the saying, “readers are leaders.” He has deep appreciation of wisdom and depth understanding of things, especially when articulated in a succinct and brilliant manner.
