Hanna Carrell, LPCC, MA

Hanna invites you into a safe, non-judgmental space where you’ll feel accepted, heard, and comfortable. Her warmth, caring, and sense of humor will put you at ease. She’ll journey with you as you discover and learn to utilize your strengths. Together you’ll work toward your achieving your goals.
Hanna helps individuals and couples overcome many challenges that get in the way of experiencing happiness, reflection, growth, and healing, such as relational struggles, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and LGBTQIAP+ issues. She uses a combination of techniques tailored to each of her client’s needs, like empowerment; exploring meaning and purpose; developing relaxation and coping skills; creating and establishing goals; re-framing exercises; and examining unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and replacing them with more flexible ways of thinking and behaving. She draws from person-centered, strength-based and affirmative practices including Narrative Therapy, CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, DBT, and other modalities that involve therapeutic creative activities.

She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gonzaga University in Washington State, and experience working in school settings, nursing homes, and private practice. Hanna has a special interest in working with the LGBTQIAP+ population, and says, “advocacy is essential to my personal and professional life.”
