Holly Muller, PhD

Dr. Muller is a licensed psychologist who provides individual, couples, and group therapy to adults, young adults, and adolescents. Her treatment approach draws from psychodynamic and emotion-focused therapies and is embedded within a culturally responsive, intersectional, and social justice framework. Dr. Muller focuses on building trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship in order to co-create a space that feels authentic, self-reflective, curious, and empowered. Together, we can create the meaningful and lasting changes you seek. The foundation of our work will be set by the goals you identify, and our treatment plan will be developed collaboratively, ensuring that it is best suited for you. Dr. Muller will work with you to cultivate insight and understanding of your relational patterns, help you develop coping tools, and deepen your connection to your innate capacity for healing and transformation in order to enhance your overall mental wellness. She focuses on both immediate symptom reduction and long-term change. Dr. Muller centers and honors your unique background, your constellation of identities, and life experiences. We will include and honor these aspects of you and your intersecting identities in our work together. She views mental health holistically and believes that health and wellness are interwoven with historical and sociopolitical contexts. She is also attuned to the ways in which interpersonal, physical, cultural, familial and religious/spiritual factors may impact your mental health and understanding of mental wellness. Dr. Muller has specialized experience and interest in working with college students, individuals and groups who have experienced trauma, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and newcomer immigrant adolescents who are learning to navigate the immediate and long-term complexities of acculturation. Her approach to couples’ therapy is attachment-based and emotion-focused. She offers to support you and your partner(s) in understanding the relational patterns that contribute to feelings of stuckness, dissatisfaction, and disconnection. She strives to help couples cultivate new ways of connecting, communicating, and negotiating needs while practicing ways to understand, appreciate and see each other as full and complex individuals. Whether you seek therapy for help during a relational crisis or are looking for tools to enhance your relationship and intimacy, we will work as a team to create the relationship you and your partner(s) hope for.
