Steering through the waves of emotions during the storms in our lives can be exhausting and overwhelming. Working on trying to figure out how to make your relationships work? Navigating your life on becoming an adult? Many relational challenges can be so frustrating! You’re not meant to journey alone in your suffering. Your pain is meant to be heard, so it can be released to create room for healing and wholeness.
Hyonme has been working with couples in all stages of their lives to resolve conflicts and helping them project towards a healthy relationship that allows each person to accept themselves and their partner. She also works with young adults who are weighed down with pressures of school, overcome with anxiety in finding their identity and purpose, feeling a sense of doom, hopelessness, isolation, and depression. Hyonme firmly believes some of our journeys are meant to be traveled together. She can walk with you in identifying the triggers in your life that can set off these waves of negative emotions which ultimately affect your daily life, through the process of working collaboratively to gain confidence and a sense of positive self-identity.
Hyonme affirms the dignity and value of each person. Through compassion and creating a safe environment, she works with clients in helping them appreciate their own unique personalities and traits. She responds to her clients with respect, and with openness to their experiences and goals. Hyonme believes each person has a purpose. She believes that through finding the meaning and purpose in life, the client can find their sense of value and place in society. Hyonme uses the person-centered approach, which focuses on the care of the individual. The care of the client includes being responsive with empathy to their individuality, rights, privacy, choices, compassion and respect. She coordinates working together to enable the client with encouragement. She loves empowering her clients with positive affirmations. Hyonme has a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York. Her background in fine arts has given her the opportunity to express herself creatively. She believes a picture can be worth a thousand words and welcomes anyone willing to express themselves through creative means. Hyonme also has a Certificate of Pastry Arts, which has allowed her to expand her sphere of contact by meeting many people during her experiences in the world of restaurants and pastry shops. She has loved the opportunities created through her desserts to soothe and meet people.
Hyonme is currently working on her Masters in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary. She has been married for 33 years and understands the many challenges of being in a relationship with someone who is the opposite of her. Hyonme has been working with young adults and international students from all backgrounds for over 10 years. She believes people long to be part of a community, even more so for people who come from abroad that are entering a new country, and new culture. Staying connected through interpersonal relationships can provide an environment for support and encouragement.
