Ivan Ruvalcaba, LPC

Ivan Ruvalcaba is a Licensed Professional Counselor providing mental health services to people ages five through adulthood in both English and Español. Ivan is experienced in assisting individuals, families, groups, and couples with many varied concerns. Ivan’s therapeutic approaches combine aspects of solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, (CBT), motivational interviewing, and person-centered counseling. As a native Spanish speaker and immigrant, he also has a culturally sensitive lens through which he approaches therapy, taking special care to meet the needs of a diverse populace. With experience working both in-home and in clinics, he brings a unique repertoire to his work with clients. Ivan’s strengths include helping people struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, family conflict, and general mental health concerns. He emphasizes the central role of autonomy, personal strengths, empowerment in the change process, and emotion and conflict management. Ivan earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his master of science in clinical mental health counseling from Marquette University. To recharge, Ivan enjoys spending time with friends, caring for plants, and coming home to his dog, Bonita, and his cat, Kuzco.
