As a therapist, I choose to meet people where they are. Whether you are excited, apprehensive or reluctant, we can start there. I believe in the process of therapy and I give my clients the time they need. We all have reasons for doing the things we do, the challenge is sometimes the patterns we’ve established no longer serve us well. We will work together to learn about your patterns and if necessary, find new ones.

I strive to create a space that is non-judgmental, strengths-based and open. With emphasis on cultural competence and wellness, I work with clients to ensure that I understand the intersection of complex identities and the personal meanings attached. As I get to know you, we can work together to find what works best for you. I use a psychodynamic approach with techniques from Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Feminist Theory, Family Systems, Mindfulness and even some humor.

I have worked extensively with people who have been affected by trauma in both individual and group settings. Additionally, I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, family and relationship issues and self-harm. In my work with adults, children and adolescents, I strive to help individuals find their own agency and identity in their choices. When working with youth, I encourage collaboration with caregivers when helpful.

Often the first step in the healing process can be the most difficult. Once you to take that step, we can work together to overcome obstacles and cultivate your best self.
