When you meet with Janine, you’ll feel comfortable in a safe and non-judgmental space where you can share your struggles, hopes, goals, failures, and successes. You’ll be met where you’re at by a calm presence. You’ll be encouraged to explore feelings, develop coping skills, and practice boundaries. You’ll be heard, and maybe laugh a bit as you learn to use your own abilities and strengths to heal.

Janine’s clients can expect to make many improvements in their lives by working to process issues such as grief and loss, and past or current traumas. She encourages and empowers her clients to work through the barriers that keep them from reaching their potential. Building relationship is key in Janine’s approach to therapy, as is the addition of CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused therapy, and distress tolerance skills as needed.

Janine has a Master’s degree in counseling and experience working in a nonprofit setting with vulnerable populations. Her counseling experience has ranged from serving acute and vulnerable populations to leading parent groups for children who were sexually abused to working within the child welfare system to geriatric medical social work.
