Dr. Malpede is a psychologist who has been working in the mental health field for over 35 years. She has a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Duquesne University and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Union Institute and University. Dr. Malpede considers herself to be a generalist, working with individuals who present with varying presenting problems who are looking to gain insight into themselves and improve their quality of life. Dr. Malpede seeks to understand each person holistically in order to provide an individualized approach and believes that establishing a strong alliance with clients is essential to getting the most out of therapy and creating lasting change. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, substance abuse/addiction, family of origin issues, trauma, life transitions and grief/loss. She utilizes a client-centered, strengths-based approach, placing emphasis on collaboration and offering a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to work through their concerns.
