Jonathan Pawson, LMHC
Jonathan Pawson is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. He earned his Master’s in counseling from Liberty University and his Master’s in Divinity from Andrews University. He is obtaining his Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, concentrating on attachment and trauma treatment. Jonathan sees counseling as an honor and a privilege because of the opportunity to share space with a client and begin a journey together. The goal is to discover inner strengths to empower for healing and life prosperity. These strengths are value-based and drive one through any barriers the client may encounter. This journey with his clients is made in a safe and non-judgmental environment where they can work through these complex issues and reach their goals. Jonathan’s clinical method is a multi-modality approach, consisting primarily of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Within these models, he integrates positive psychology, where they focus on hope, encouragement, and gratitude, along with mindfulness. Jonathan’s clients will find that he incorporates a team approach on this journey, where they celebrate victories along this therapeutic path together. His experiences in counseling derive from working with anxiety, depression, PTSD/CPTSD/trauma, grief, and relational conflicts. You will receive a tailored treatment plan for your unique needs and desires through evidence-based therapeutic approaches. You will receive the empowerment you need to overcome obstacles, heal emotional wounds, and create lasting change. Jonathan will empower you to find safety and wholeness in your present chapter of life and find the joy you have been looking for. Together, you’ll reshape thought patterns, unlocking your desired emotional well-being. You’re not alone—you will receive the support and tools you need to live your desired life! Before obtaining his counseling degree, Jonathan worked as a pastor for more than 17 years, which provided the experience of working closely with individuals and families from all walks of life. He served in the Army and has experience with veterans and their spouses. Jonathan’s greatest passion is his family, and he loves to spend time with his three adult children and wife of 27 years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time reading and researching, hanging out with his family, nature, and playing tabletop games.
