Katerine Deatrich

Dr. Deatrich earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Widener University. She earned her B.A. from Goucher College with a major in psychology and a minor in French. Her previous positions include private practice, college counseling, inpatient psychiatry, and community mental health. Kate has experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ/sexuality issues, eating disorders, relationship/family conflict, and chronic health issues. She also has experience providing psychoeducational and personality assessment for adolescents and adults. When approaching therapy, she primarily uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness techniques, while incorporating Emotion Focused Therapy, cognitive behavioral, and psychodynamic methods. She is especially interested in working with clients with chronic and severe health conditions, the trans community, and those who have experienced trauma and/or abuse.
