Katherine Crusey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from National University in 2011. She completed her post-graduate training at Alvarado Parkway Institute’s inpatient hospital and intensive outpatient program, assisting patients with chronic and acute mental illnesses. Katherine also worked with grief and loss as a Bereavement Counselor at Mission Hospice. Later, she worked with Vista Hill’s Learning Assistance Center-East County at a special education high school with teens who had externalizing behaviors and in a medical clinic setting at Vista Hill’s SmartCare program. Katherine has experience with teens, adults and the elderly populations, facilitating individual, couples and family therapy. Katherine has a trauma informed care approach and is client/humanistic centered, but has experience with a variety of theoretical orientations and is willing and able to make adjustments based on each person’s needs. Katherine, additionally received specialized training in treating those who suffered from a trauma through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Katherine practices a non-discrimination approach and welcomes anyone from the LGBTQ population. Katherine creates a safe environment for growth and healing.
