Kathryn Conyers
Kathryn holds a Master of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with an emphasis on human development. She is a Professional Counselor Associate and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She has worked in a variety of settings providing counseling and education, including private practice and universities. Her work has focused primarily on anxiety and other mood disorders, childhood trauma, codependency, interpersonal relationships, and general life balance.
Kathryn views counseling as an opportunity to explore emotions, thoughts, and past experiences in order to better understand the self. She understands that problems arise in a variety of ways and can cause us to feel stuck or overwhelmed. Kathryn sees how, often, parts of ourselves (such as anxiety, self-criticism, and self-doubt) get in the way of living the lives we desire. Along with increasing self-awareness, she has found that practicing self-kindness or compassion is an integral part of the therapeutic process. She works with clients to identify what they truly want in life and to discover solutions to work toward those goals.
Kathryn offers trauma-informed, integrative therapy both individually and in group settings. She primarily draws on the following approaches: Person-centered, Strengths-based, Mindfulness, Self-compassion, Somatic (body-based), Psychodynamic, Attachment, Internal Family Systems (“parts work”), Inner-child work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused, Creative approaches (Expressive arts, Guided imagery), and EMDR (a trauma processing modality).
Kathryn is under the supervision of Miranda Gambetti, LPC, CADCII.
She enjoys supporting people of all backgrounds and is a BIPOC and LGBTQI+ ally.
She is currently offering in-person appointments for established clients.
