About Kelly Lenn Yeldell, LCSW

Kelly welcomes you into a caring, nonjudgmental and safe space. Her warmth and empathy will help you feel at ease and comfortable when we’re working together. You’ll appreciate her down-to-earth spirit and feel she’s someone who’s easy to talk to. You’ll be met where you’re at when you meet with Kelly.

Kelly’s clients can overcome many struggles, including depression and anxiety. They can overcome challenges in their relationships, including couples, parent-child and family relationships. They can overcome addiction and self-destructive behaviors. They can focus on trauma, grief and loss, and also learn ways to cope with day-to-day challenges in their lives. When working with children or adolescents Kelly also works with the entire family, believing that parental involvement is crucial to the success of treatment.

Active listening and psychoeducation are some of the tools Kelly uses to engage and empower clients. She uses relaxation techniques to ease clients’ anxiety during treatment, especially when discussing anything traumatic. She enjoys building therapeutic relationships by sharing stories or experiences, as well as creating goals with clients by allowing them to determine the pace of treatment.

CBT, person-centered, relationally focused integrative therapy, trauma-focused CBT, solution-focused therapy, and strength-based therapy are some of the modalities Kelly draws from. She also has experience using play therapy with children, and art with victims of trauma and abuse.

Kelly has a Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Alabama and an undergraduate degree in Childhood Development and Family Studies. She has experience working in a variety of behavioral health settings, in hospital, assisted living, and inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities.
