BIO:
Khaleelah Ishmael Pope provides services for psychiatric care for patients across the lifespan (ages 5-60). Khaleelah is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with extensive years of service in the mental health field. Khaleelah obtained her initial degree from Virginia Union University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Identifying the need for additional providers in the mental health field, Khaleelah paired her passion of psychology and physical sciences to further enhance her skills by obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Norfolk State University. Khaleelah’s ongoing desire to be a benefit to serving those with mental health challenges further promoted her to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration of psychiatry from the University of South Alabama.

During her career path, Khaleelah has worked in various capacities as a mental health provider, to include, adolescent group home counselor, behavior specialist, psychiatric nurse, medication management nurse, partial hospitalization coordinator, behavioral health utilization management care manager, and nursing care manager. Khaleelah’s over 20 – year extensive career history includes positions with the department of human services with the City of Virginia Beach, First Home Care, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Optima, and Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center.
