From my perspective as a psychotherapist, healing is built on a good, strong foundation of trust. It is gradual, and happens organically through dialogue“telling of the client’s story. As well, by the therapist supporting talk openly, and being a trusting participant. Feeling safe, respected and willing to share with someone who truly hears you is key. Finding your answers through exploring what has worked in the past, and what didn’t, will give your therapy experience grow merit and substance. Together, we can find what will help you live fully today, while developing skills to build the future you that you desire.

Clinical Perspective
Cognitive behavioral therapy can be thought of as a combination of psychotherapy and behavioral therapy. Psychotherapy emphasizes the importance of the personal meaning we place on things and how thinking patterns begin in childhood. Behavioral therapy pays close attention to the relationship between our problems, our behavior and our thoughts. Most psychotherapists who practice CBT personalize and customize the therapy to the specific needs and personality of each patient.

My training began with CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy). I understand how complex relationships are within couples, friends, families and individuals. I desire to help you sort out your own identity and strengths, even if you were never told or supported in this before.
