Kim is a licensed professional counselor and clinical substance abuse counselor. She has provided services in outpatient and residential settings. She is experienced in working specifically in the areas of alcohol and drugs, codependency, depression, anxiety, dual diagnosis and trauma. Kim uses components of cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational enhancement therapy to elicit change and assist clients through the stages of recovery. She works with clients to improve their day to day functioning by developing coping and assertive skills so that clients can feel empowered to make changes leading to a healthier and more productive lifestyle. Her approach is gentle, empathic and respectful, using a solution-focused and person-centered approach combined with mindfulness and relaxation techniques to create a therapeutic environment for each client.
