Kristen Cox is a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. She graduated with honors from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Health Education (2000), M.S. in Medical Informatics (2002), B.S. in Nursing (2013) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (2016). She also earned a certificate in Nursing Education (2016). Additionally, Dr. Cox discovered a passion for treating those with mental illness and earned a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate in 2021. Dr. Cox has been employed as a Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist for the past 7 years and as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in various hospitals, post-acute, residential, partial hospitalization, rehabilitation and outpatient settings. Dr. Cox has also taught and advised many registered nurse and nurse practitioner students as Nursing core faculty at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and as Adjunct faculty at the University of Utah. Dr. Cox provides treatment through medication, psychotherapy, wellness, and psychoeducation. She strives to care for patients utilizing a shared-decision making model, wherein she will share her knowledge and insight and allow you to share your experiences and concerns to develop an individualized treatment plan.
