Krystel Salandanan, PsyD

The field of neuropsychology aims to understand the structure and function of the brain, and its relationship to our cognitions and behaviors. But human cognition is multifaceted and complicated. Dr. Krystel Salandanan is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist who works to provide comprehensive cognitive assessments across a diverse population. She acknowledges that the development of our higher mental functions is best understood when framed within one’s biological, environmental, social, cultural, historical, and psychological context. Krystel’s evaluations aim to portray her patients as unique cultural beings who deserve to be treated with integrity and respect.

Dr. Salandanan received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute, and Bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from the University of Washington. She has specialized experiences in the assessment and evaluation of attention deficits, learning disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, memory problems, and traumatic brain injuries across the lifespan. Dr. Salandanan has received extensive training in behavioral therapies, mindfulness-based techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Her clinical interests include personality disorders, emotion dysregulation disorders, chronic disease management, and working with historically marginalized communities of color.
