Kylie Swaleh, LMFT

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California and have had over 7+ years of experience working with diverse populations of children, adolescents, and adults through the Sacramento area in community mental health. Before my years of working with clients in community mental health, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in marriage and family therapy at California State University, Sacramento. In my most recent years, I have obtained experience in working with families and adolescents throughout our Sacramento Juvenile Court System on engaging clients in court-ordered counseling through our community outreach and probation diversion counseling programs. I have experience working with individual adults, couples, families, and children by navigating them through problems related to anxiety, depression, communication, low hope, and self-esteem. I am trained in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Multisystemic Therapy for my methods in my approaches with clients.

I specialize in empowering clients to work on increasing their insightfulness and targeting attainable goals for their desired outcomes for counseling. I provide a safe environment to discuss strategies to help clients cope with their emotional obstacles so they can be better prepared to find effective solutions to their unique challenges. I am certified in utilizing interventions from Multisystemic Therapy, which specializes in working with families and adolescents that may be experiencing behavioral concerns with aggression, lack of following rules or boundaries in the home or community, commercial sexual exploitation (CSEC), and substance abuse. I can utilize interventions that are commonly utilized in Multisystemic therapy to help empower caregivers to increase their parental hierarchy in the home to help decrease their adolescent’s at-risk behaviors
