Psychiatrist in The Woodlands, Texas, Kyung (Bob) Lee, PMHNP

Kyung (Bob) Lee, PMHNP

My name is Kyung Bob Lee. I am a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to practice in psychiatry; diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, and adults. My practice specialties include (but not limited to) ADHD, Depression, Bipolar disorder, Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Insomnia.

My style of practice can be traditional (prescribing up to date psychiatric medications) or alternative medicine (natural treatments including but not limited to vitamins, supplements, lifestyle modification, nutrition, exercise and stress management). I believe in the mind/body/spiritual connection, and we are made up as a whole person and not a series of parts.

I have always had a special interest in psychiatry. I started my nursing career at Maryland and decided to move to Houston to pursue higher education. I continued my education at University of Texas Health and Science Center at Houston and received a Master of Science in Nursing/ Nurse practitioner in Psychiatric Mental Health. I was the first undergraduate student to graduate with Bachelor’s degrees within 2 years and was the valedictorian of the class. I finished my education with the highest GPA throughout. I am a board-certified Nurse Practitioner.

After becoming a registered nurse, I was taking care of intellectual disability populations. Right after coming to Texas, I became a forensic psychiatric nurse and helped with inmates/ patients. I also have experience of taking care of the patients at a psychiatric ER setting, neuro-behavioral setting, out-patient setting, addiction clinic, and in-patient adolescent/ adult unit. I enjoy working with a variety of age groups. We hope our life will be filled the best, but often can result in trauma, stress, and the unexpected hardships. You may be in the middle of the darkest time of your life. I became a nurse because I wanted to help others and give back to the world. I became a nurse practitioner because I felt there was more I could do to help ease suffering. Recovery is not one and done. It is a lifelong journey that takes place one day, one step at a time!
