Lonni Alderman, LPC
Are you dealing with anxious thoughts or non-stop worry? Or feeling down-in-the-dumps and can’t quite pinpoint why? Maybe you are finding it hard to get your stress levels under control? These struggles are much more common than you might think, and Lonni is here to help you overcome them! She understands because she dealt with many of the same issues throughout her teenage years. She didn’t learn that she could take control of her own thoughts and emotions until she sought counseling. And you can too!
Lonni uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help clients challenge their negative thought patterns and promote positive thinking. She helps clients identify their irrational thoughts and teaches tips to combat harmful thought patterns and change unhealthy behaviors.
“The brain is truly incredible, and the more we practice challenging these destructive thought patterns, the more natural and easier it becomes for our brains to think more positively.”-Lonni
Lonni grew up in Coppell and attended Coppell High School. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.A. in Psychology, and then earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Criswell College. She has counseling experience in both the non-profit and private practice settings and has worked with clients of various ages, backgrounds, and cultures.
Lonni’s passion is working with teenagers and young adults. She has been a leader in her church youth group for over 10 years and is a mentor to young girls in the community. Lonni knows how difficult those years can be, and wants to help clients struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, anger issues, grief, low self-esteem, and interpersonal problems to find freedom through counseling.
Maybe you’ve been hesitant to reach out for help, unsure of the counseling process and all that is involved. Lonni will provide a safe space for you to share and process your thoughts and emotions. You will be heard, seen, and known, without judgement. Lonni is devoted to coming alongside you to help you grow, heal, and meet your personal goals in order to find joy and hope in life.
