Earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of North Texas as well as a Master of Art from Amberton University in Professional Counseling has prepared me to help others in extinguishing negative thoughts and trauma from their existence.
We will work collaboratively learning how to overcome life’s challenges by helping retrain your brain. Helping others create new thought patterns in their brains by using positive thoughts and cognitive challenging are areas I enjoy. This helps by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression, allowing you to be able to take control of your thoughts and life.
I work with teens and adults who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, communication issues, grief, and transitional life issues. Using an encouraging, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach to help you take steps to finding joy in life.
I also enjoy working with couples and families on communication skills, listening skills, and enhanced conflict resolution.
Being diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2014 I have been a survivor advocate for those diagnosed with cancer. Focusing on living life to the fullest and not letting cancer be your identity is my hope for others. We can talk through issues related to illness that are difficult for others to understand.
Working with Cognitive Behavioral therapy as well as Solution-focused Brief therapy we will unravel negative thoughts and self-talk. Setting goals and taking steps towards those builds self-esteem and accomplishment. Learning to love yourself, speak your truth, addressing fear, guilt, and shame are keys to better well being. Mindfulness, relaxation, and self-acceptance are areas of focus as well. Let me help you find joy and happiness in the present. After all, the present is all we have so let’s embrace it.
