Lori Hillard, PhD

Lori Hillard, PhD. is a licensed clinical psychologist. She earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Medicine in 2002 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Hillard also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Dr. Hillard has been practicing for twenty years and has practiced and consulted in many different settings. She has worked in community mental health as a clinician, consultant and trainer, owned a private practice for several years, and worked at The Counseling Center of Nashua for ten years. She also continues to consult on issues related to substance use disorders. Dr. Hillard treats clients with a range of issues, including substance misuse and co-occurring disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, life stress, and behavioral health change. The core of her work is to understand and respect clients’ perspectives, collaborate on setting goals, and facilitate the process of change. She integrates strategies from Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Dr. Hillard treats late adolescents and adults.
