Dr. Lynda Bolduc-Hicks is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 25 years’ experience providing outpatient care as a relational therapist. Earning her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Northeastern University in 1996 she went on to receive her Doctorate from Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, now William James College, in 2002. Her dissertation was entitled ‘Trauma Recovery in Female Survivors: Age, Affect Regulation and Safe Attachment’. Dr. Bolduc-Hicks has been in the field of mental health since 1990 at inpatient hospitals, Psychiatric Emergency Centers, behavioral programs, residential programs as well as providing home-based therapy to homicide survivors. She is a certified clinical trauma professional (CCPT) specializing in working with individuals coping with the impact of childhood sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence and traumatic grief. She received her training and was a staff Psychologist at the Harvard Affiliated Victims of Violence Program from 2000 to 2009 with Dr. Judith Herman, a pioneer in the field of traumatology. She is also certified in Critical Incident Stress Management, Community Crisis Intervention and Disaster Mental Health and was the Director of the First Responder Wellness Program working with first responders and Massachusetts Families bereaved following the events of 9/11/01. Dr. Bolduc-Hicks has presented at various conferences throughout the country in the areas of trauma, traumatic grief and work with first responders. She continues to provide outpatient care to first responders and their family members to address the traumatic impact of their unique work and culture. She is also certified in Gottman Method therapy for couples, Level I and Level II and Emotionally Focused Therapy as well as alternative approaches including certifications in Reiki, personal training, health and wellness and as a RYT Yoga teacher. In her outpatient therapy, she places emphasis on treating the whole person which encompasses the individual’s challenges as well as their individual strengths and resources. She is interactive in sessions and draws on a variety of therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies to assist patients by alleviating symptoms and improving their quality of life.
