Therapist in Madison, Wisconsin, Madeleine Manning, LMFT-IT

Madeleine Manning, LMFT-IT

Madeleine is deeply interested in working with couples. She is passionate about helping identify the cycles that prevent us from reaching relational goals. Once the cycles have been mapped out, the road is cleared for discovery of new ways to interact in order to cultivate deep connection and satisfaction.
In addition to relationship concerns, Madeleine works with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and identity. She uses emotion focused therapy, the Gottman method, CBT, self-compassion and mindfulness, while keeping the entire system of each person’s life in focus. She likes to dig deep behind symptoms to identify the dreams, desires, and hopes you have for your life. She believes symptoms often occur when we feel that our dreams are being denied or threatened.
A guiding principle in Madeleine’s work is her desire to help others accept themselves for who they are, right where they are in their lives. Acceptance and kindness to self is drawn from shared humanity and empathy. She believes that once we accept ourselves, suffering softens and allows us to more easily make changes in the cycles we are trying to interrupt.
Madeleine recognizes that every single person is unique, so what helps one person in therapy may not be as useful to another. She wants to hear what you need at any given moment, and help you identify what works best for you to feel that you are living a fulfilling life. She offers a welcoming and safe space for you to use for whatever you need; be it healing, enrichment, exploration, planning, growth, or self-acceptance.
